Get To know Miguel
Miguel is an actor, singer, writer, actor-combatant, and voiceover artist.
Miguel is originally from Monroe, Louisiana. He moved to Columbia, Missouri where he finally discovered his deep passion for acting. He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theatre Performance/Acting in 2021.
At Michigan, Miguel starred and was featured in several University Productions. Miguel also co-founded his own student production organization We The Proud (@wetheproud). We The Proud is an organization that creates opportunities for marginalized theatre-makers to re-imagine themselves out of oppression. Through our pillars of representation, validation, normalization, and reclamation, we aim to help all minority artists find their creative voice so they can empower themselves using the performing arts as a medium.
Outside of Michigan, Miguel has studied Acting and Musical Theatre with Florida State University and The University of Missouri’s faculty. He studied Black theatre in NYC through the Billie Holiday Theatre’s Black Arts program and in Johannesburg, South Africa with the Market Theatre. Miguel has also studied Shakespeare in Oxford, England through BADA’s Midsummer in Oxford program.
